Knox Twp. Festival to include music, games, tractor pulls

The classics of summertime will await visitors to North Georgetown Community Pavilion for the Knox Township Festival on July 22.

Homeworth Community Group announced the event will run noon to 10 p.m. at the structure at North Georgetown Fire Department.

The opening ceremony at noon will feature George D. Worth Color Guard, North Georgetown Post 574 and the raising the flag. Dave Scott of Homeworth will sing the national anthem, and Pam Miller will lead a prayer.

Background Bluegrass Music will play all day, courtesy of Kerry Varble.

More than 50 vintage and classic cars are expected at this year’s car show, which will run from noon to 3 p.m.

Other scheduled events include:

Garden Tractor Pull – noon.

Pedal Tractor Pull – 4 p.m.

Baby Contest – 3 p.m. in front of the band stage. Those who registered should check in by 2:15 p.m. Deadline to enter on Facebook has been extended to July 20. Age groups are 6 to 12 months; 12 to 18 months; and 18 to 24 months. Band shows – Leather and Lace, 7 p.m.; Burning Blue Band, 7:30 to 10 p.m. Bring lawn chairs for seating.

Entertainment also will include bounce houses, obstacle course, carnival games, train ride around the park and Mini Golf Hole. A dunk tank also will be challenging your aim.

Organizers will sell 1,000 tickets for a gun raffle at the ticket table. The Homeworth Community Group table will be selling ice cream to eat while checking out the Antique Hit and Miss Engines.
