Bid walks meet weekly.

  • Ink Fish Printing: Aug. 16, 10-11 a.m. “Gyotaku” (guy-yo-tah-koo) or ink fish printing was a method of counting how many fish a fisherperson caught. • Woodland Walk: Aug. 17, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Hike the Woodland Dunes Trail with Master Naturalist Karen Merlau and learn about the different types of trees, how to identify them, how they grow and how to tell their age. Take insect repellent, a bottle of water and wear comfortable shoes for an hour-long hike. The hike is good for the entire family, although children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the trailhead near the playground by parking lot P8.

  • Night Noises: Midnight Music for Campers: Aug. 19, 6:30-8 p.m. Waking up in the night wondering what the noise is outside your tent? It’s not something scary. It’s midnight music for the “brave of heart.” Take the family and join Master Naturalist Chris Lilek as she teaches participants “how to crackle, squeak, buzz and bump” like the creatures of the night. Meet at the Amphitheater, near parking lot 4. The program will move to Sanderling Nature Center if weather is bad.
