A new Korean BBQ spot has opened in a bustling Columbia area. Check out where

There’s a new restaurant with a host of Asian flavors on the scene in one of Columbia’s key shopping districts.

Burnin 99 Korean BBQ and Hotpot recently opened its doors at 1150 Bower Parkway in the busy Harbison retail shopping area west of Interstate 26, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The new Korean restaurant is in the spot that used to be home to a Wild Wing Cafe restaurant. It’s near the British Bulldog Pub, Columbiana Grande movie theater and a number of other businesses located in the Columbiana Station shopping center off Bower Parkway.

Burnin 99 also has a restaurant in Summerville. On its website, the restaurant says it has 20 kinds of sauces to go with its various dishes.

“Burnin 99 is an All-You-Can-Eat authentic Chinese hot pot and Korean BBQ restaurant,” the company said on its website. “We offer 6 choices of hot pot broths, which serve as perfect soup bases for 45 different kinds of fresh vegetable and meat. Burnin 99 is a place that can bring you great fulfillment and endless enjoy.”

This marks the second Korean barbecue and hotpot restaurant to open in the Harbison area in recent months. KPot Korean BBQ opened its doors in July at 280 Harbison Blvd., in the former location of a Chili’s restaurant.

The overall Harbison area has continued to be a key retail district for the Midlands, one that draws locals and visitors traveling on nearby I-26. About 29,500 cars per day travel down Harbison Boulevard, per state Department of Transportation statistics, and about 10,600 cars per day pass down nearby Bower Parkway, where Burnin 99 recently opened.
