A Korean restaurant chain is set to take the place of the former Buffalo Wild Wings in Wauwatosa.

The city unanimously approved plans proposed by Brookfield resident Bryan Pham this month for KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot to move into the vacant restaurant at 2635 N. Mayfair Road. Still early on in the process, Pham said he's unsure of an exact opening date, but his goal is to open in the fall.

Greenfield also approved Pham's plans in November to open a KPOT at 4902 S. 74 St., replacing the former Old Country Buffet; its tentative opening is planned for early August.

Pham said he's new to the franchise but has over 10 years of working in the restaurant industry. His restaurants will be the first KPOT locations in Wisconsin.

KPOT first opened in New York in 2018 and has opened dozens of locations across the country since.

The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat, interactive dining experience. Diners can choose the ingredients for their hot pot, like meat, seafood, tofu and vegetables, and add them to their simmering pot of soup at the table.

The restaurant will also have a full bar — some KPOT drink favorites include the Passionfruit Soji Mule and Pineapple Painkiller, the menu says.

Pham's proposal includes indoor and outdoor dining.

KPOT's hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
