S. Korea's tallest skyscraper resumes marathon climb
STORY: The '2022 Sky Run' marathon at the Lotte World Tower in Seoul, was held to raise funds for a charity to help children who have difficulty in walking, according to organiser, Lotte Property and Development.
About 800 runners, including family members of disabled children, climbed 2,917 steps to the finish line on the 123rd floor of the skyscraper.
The annual vertical marathon was started in 2017, but had been suspended for the last two years due to coronavirus outbreaks. People are still required to wear masks, but South Korea lifted almost all of its COVID-19 precautions on April 18 in a major step towards a return to normal life.
The building is 555-metres high and the world's fifth-tallest building as of 2021, organizers said.
