1. Orlando residents packed Barnett Park on Sunday for post-Christmas COVID-19 testing. Prior to Sunday, the site hit capacity for testing and had to close early for the past nine days in a row that it's been open as the COVID-19 Omicron variant spreads. (Spectrum News 13)

2. Scandinavian-inspired food truck, SwedeDish, is leaving the Milk District food truck park A La Cart in the new year. Vegan food truck Korgette will replace it starting Monday, January 3rd. (Bungalower)

3. Governor Ron DeSantis’ budget proposal for the upcoming year includes $100 million for broadband and other infrastructure needs in rural communities. The Florida State Hispanic Chamber and the Florida Alliance of Consumers and Taxpayers say the FCC is not rolling out benefits passed in Biden's infrastructure bill fast enough. (WMFE)

4. A three-judge panel in 2019 backed the Justice Department’s authority to pursue a lawsuit under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act against the state of Florida. They allege Florida was unnecessarily institutionalizing children with disabilities in nursing homes. A federal appeals court upheld the decision on Wednesday. (Click Orlando)

5. The Osceola County Courthouse is now officially the Judge Jon B. Morgan Courthouse, after a public dedication ceremony on Friday. Morgan was a longtime Ninth Circuit Court Judge and fixture of the legal system for more than four decades. (Osceola News-Gazette)
