Kosovo festival lets artists transform public spaces

STORY: Kosovo's Manifesta festival aims to reclaim public spaces

Location: Pristina, Kosovo

Artists and architects are invited to use city landmarks as their canvas

and engage in reshaping abandoned areas and buildings

Hedwig Fijen, Manifesta Director:

"So Manifesta is also a little bit known to understand what reclaiming public space means. How can we create (spaces), especially after the health crisis where so many families were stuck in their houses? How can we help restore buildings or show to the decision makers what you can do with these spaces?"

The event features artworks in 25 iconic venues across Pristina

Andreas Gajdosik, Visitor:

"It is quite nice to see all the architecture in the city and feel the community. The city is not so big, it feels quite friendly."
