Kourtney Kardashian's Childrens' Playhouse Is Nicer Than Your Actual Home

Kourtney Kardashian lives a well-earned life of luxury and sophistication, so when her kids needed a place to play she knew that any old treehouse just wouldn't do.

The eldest Kardashian sister opened up the doors to her kids' playhouse, an architectural masterpiece constructed in the backyard of her Calabasas home.

In a video with Architectural Digest, Kourtney explains that she and Scott Disick had discussed a playhouse for years, but after dragging her feet he actually took charge of things and got it made.

In fact, Scott even used the playhouse as a plot line in his real estate TV show, "Flip It Like Disick."

Kourtney explained that during construction, she wanted to make sure the playhouse complimented her actual house, although she admits the tinier version is much more modern and sophisticated.

She even let the kids get involved, and revealed that Penelope, Mason and Reign helped pick out the wood, and even decorated the walls with some of their artwork.

Technology Free Zone

Kourtney explained that all technology is outlawed in the playhouse, including iPads, iPhones, computers and video games.

She wants the kids to be able to come and enjoy books and use their imagination, which she admits has turned off her son, Reign, from spending much time in the playhouse.

Kourtney wants all her kids to be able to play together, but unfortunately she says they use the play area separately, and Penelope spends the most time in it.

Disney Inspired

Kourtney talked about her love for all things Disney, and along with a ton of the kids' stuffed animals, she added two custom Minnie and Mickey plushies made by Coach.

Family History

The playhouse is filled with Kardashian history, including a rocking horse that belonged to Kourtney when she was a little girl.

She also describes the old books that are kept in the playhouse, including those that belonged to her and sister Kim Kardashian when they were young.

Kourtney says her favorites are "Madeline" and "The Little Prince."
