A resident of Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, has been handed down a nine-year prison sentence for unauthorized disclosure of units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported on Telegram on August 4.

The investigation revealed that in March 2023, the suspect was engaged in communication with two administrators of local pro-Russian chat rooms, which were allegedly created to gather intelligence on the whereabouts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The individual was fully aware that the information shared could be accessed by Russian military personnel and could potentially compromise Ukraine’s national security, yet this did not deter him.

In a separate incident in Zaporizhzhya on July 31, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) apprehended an informant and handler of Russian special services, who was later identified as a local university lecturer.

On July 27, the SBU also arrested a Russian informant who was collecting data on the movements of Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv Oblast.
