Krewe des Chien dog parade in Lafayette changes start time due to weather
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — One of the more whimsical Acadiana Carnival traditions, the Krewe des Chien dog parade in Lafayette, is getting an earlier start than planned.
Due to expected stormy weather on Saturday, the parade’s start time has been moved from noon to 10 a.m., organizers said.

This follows another parade in Lafayette Parish, the Scott Mardi Gras Parade, which moved its starting time from 11 a.m. to 10 a.m., also due to the expected weather..
According to KLFY Meteorologist Chris Cozart, heavy storms are in the forecast for Saturday late in the morning through the afternoon hours. Rainfall could be heavy at times along with a low risk for severe weather.
