  • Kim Kardashian and Kanye West just welcomed their fourth child, Psalm West on May 10.

  • Kim announced his name last week along with a photo of Psalm in his crib.

  • Kris Jenner explained the meaning behind the name, other than the obvious Bible reference.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed a baby boy on May 10, and while Kim only shared a photo of him snuggled up in a bunch of blankets in his crib, you can already tell he’s an adorable little nugget. And when she posted that first photo on Twitter, she announced they named him Psalm West because naming him Rob after her dad and brother was too basic, mmkay? Anyway, for those of you wondering how they chose the name and what it even means, grandma Kris Jenner explained all.

Kris told ET Online that the name is obviously a reference to a book in the Old Testament of the Bible. The literal translation is "song" or "instrumental music," which is so fitting considering Kanye is a musician who hosts a spiritual Christian fellowship session at Sunday Service every weekend.

Kris also added that the name goes beyond what you'd learn in Scriptures 101 and is "just a wonderful way to celebrate how they feel. And he's such a blessing, so it's perfect. He's just adorable."

This also echoes a text Kanye sent Kim, which said, "We are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need" and similar intel from a People source.

An anonymous source told the magazine that Kanye has rededicated himself to God. They said, "Kanye has been going through a spiritual revival lately. Every name has a meaning that is personal between Kanye and Kim and the child. Psalm is a good reflection of where Kanye and Kim are spiritually.”

They also added that Kanye loves to read the more poetic books of the Bible, like Psalms (duh), Proverbs, and Song of Solomon, and "believes that there’s a lot of wisdom in them.” Man, this kid's got a lot to live up to!
