Krispy Kreme driver charged with stealing delivery truck full of doughnuts

Nov. 1—A part-time delivery driver from Scranton stole a truck Friday belonging to Krispy Kreme loaded with nearly $800 in doughnuts, South Abington Twp. police said.

Robert P. Rebmann Jr., 40, 324 N. Rebecca Ave., is charged with theft and receiving stolen property, according to a criminal complaint prepared by Patrolmen Henry D. Zimmer and Peter W. Egan.

On Friday, police began investigating the reported theft of a Krispy Kreme delivery truck containing $797.50 worth of doughnuts. The driver, Rebmann, never made his delivery from the South Abington Twp. store.

Rebmann stopped responding to his employers after he didn't make the delivery.

Rebmann was arraigned Monday and jailed at the Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail. The truck has been returned, said Michael O'Hora, who reported it stolen.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 10.
