Kristen Stewart Dyed Her Hair Bright Orange During Lockdown

Gianluca Russo

If there's one thing social distancing is perfect for is experimenting with new hairstyles — and Kristen Stewart knew this early on.

We are all isolating at home in an effort to help fight the spread of coronavirus and that means there's probably a few months left before we can see our friends again IRL. That might be disheartening but, on the bright side, it is also the perfect time to rock your wildest hair fantasies. And if, by chance, dying your hair bright orange is what you've been thinking about, Kristen is here to show you how to do it.

Back in March, before the shelter-in-place order was officially introduced in California, Kristen took the leap and had her stylist, CJ Romero, dye her hair bright orange. That's right: Not faded orange highlights, but full-on Halloween Candy Corn inspired, bad *ss orange. "Who said you can’t be cute in quarantine!?" CJ wrote in the caption, showing off Kristen's new style and we are here for it!

Kristen got her hair dyed with Emma Roberts at CJ's house it seems. Are you inspired by Kristen's look and want to achieve similar? Thankfully, CJ broke down the entire process in another Instagram post. To get that bright color, which the stylist aptly dubbed "Cosmic Rust," he used Maria Nila's Bright Copper color refresh and a couple of drops of Autumn Red dye . He also used the IN COMMON Cashmere Fusion Restorative Treatment to "give my [girl's] hair a little extra love and moisture!" After creating the dye mixture, he applied it to Kristen's hair for 30 months, and that was it!

Kristen isn't the only major celeb to have a hair transformation during this period of social distancing. Bella Hadid, for instance, decided to go for a lavender and blue ombre look (though temporarily) while Bretman Rock opted to dye his hair platinum blonde (that he has since dyed multiple bright colors). There have been many hair trends to go viral online as well, like the Kool-Aid dye one (which you should probably avoid).

If your heart is set on bright orange hair just like Kristen's but the products CJ used are a bit out of your price range, here are some affordable products that will help you get the job done (without damaging your hair):
