Kristen Stewart just made bubblegum pink hair look totally badass

Taking the plunge and going for pink hair can be a fun way to change up your look and try something bold, no matter your natural hair color. But trying out a shade of bubblegum pink can be risky. Most of us want to look like an elevated version of Princess Lolly from Candy Land and not like a rebellious teenager trying to annoy our parents.

But so many celebs have shown us how to rock pink strands without looking too sugary sweet. From Amanda Bynes and SZA trying hot pink hair to Ashley Tisdale and Hailey Bieber‘s recent forays into bubblegum pink, there’s no shortage of cotton candy-inspired shades to choose from.

We can now add Kristen Stewart to the bubblegum brigade because she has just shown us the coolest, most low-maintenance way to wear pink hair. And, as expected, she looks like a total badass.

Stewart popped up in Deauville, France on September 12th for the Deauville American Film Festival, where French director Olivier Assayas paid tribute to her career so far. She traded her now-signature blonde pixie cut for a rosy hue, keeping her roots brown and her blonde hair poking through. This is officially the freshest way to wear pink hair.

Stewart’s makeup artist, Emma Kotch, shared a photo of her bubblegum pink look on Instagram.

She also posed for a photo at the festival, looking so insanely cool, it’s ridiculous.

If you want to try out a pink hue but don’t want the major upkeep, the good news is that there are several effective (and affordable) products out there to help you achieve the look. We love L’Oréal Paris’ Colorista 1-Day Hair Color Spray in Pastel Pink, which washes out in just one day, Kristin Ess’s Rose Gold Temporary Tint which will last a bit longer (around a week or so), and Lime Crime’s Unicorn Hair Tint in Bunny for something a bit bolder and more permanent.

No matter which shade you try, you can channel Stewart by keeping your roots natural and letting your original shade shine through. Either way, prepare for major compliments because this look is flawless.
