Kroger store in Livonia to reopen after massive renovation: What’s different inside

After undergoing four months of extensive renovations and expansion, a Livonia Kroger store has reopened and will celebrate a grand reopening.

A ribbon-cutting is expected to take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the newly remodeled Kroger store at 33523 Eight Mile Road.

The first 250 customers will receive a $10 Kroger gift card.

Kroger said the $17.4 million in renovations included adding 28,000 square feet.

“Over the last four months, we’ve expanded this store and added many new amenities with the goal in mind to create the best shopping experience possible for the Livonia community," said Ken DeLuca, division president of The Kroger Co. of Michigan in a news release. "We appreciate the community's support during this process and hope everyone can join us in celebrating the grand reopening.”

The store, now totaling 76,330 square feet, features a new sushi counter and recycling center. Part of the renovations included expanding the fresh food departments. Kroger also added a new in-store Starbucks and a pharmacy drive-thru window.

This Livonia store is also hiring. Those interested can go to jobs.kroger.com.

Store hours are 6 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
