Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos said that, since the announcement of his comeback into the Germany national team, he hasn't had any second thoughts about his decision.

"It probably wouldn't be good to say that right now, but it really is from the bottom of my heart," he said in the Einfach mal luppen podcast he runs with his brother, Felix Kroos.

World Cup winner Kroos said last week that he will come out of international retirement and return into the Germany team for March friendlies and the Euro 2024 tournament on home ground.

He initially retired from the team after the last Euros in 2021 with 106 caps highlighted by the 2014 World Cup title.

"I have to say that there was a lot of very, very positive feedback. I was expecting more feedback saying I don't what I'm doing or that I don't know the risk," he said.

Kroos is expected to help Germany to achieve more stability in terms of play and also set the tone as a leader.

Speaking about his own experience with former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, he explained how a strong leadership can help a player.

"After the game (Kroos debut for Bayern) he said 'the boy is world class.' I was 17 at the time," Kroos said. The praise gave him "a brutal boost."
