A 5-year-old missing Princeton, Kentucky, girl who police believe was taken by her father after her mother was found shot to death has been located and is no longer in danger.

According to a one-line update sent by Kentucky State Police around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Lela Black has been "located safely." Her father, 42-year-old Byron Black, was taken into custody after police said he disappeared with the girl on Friday.

Police had issued a warrant for Byron Black's arrest after Lela's mother, Kelly Black, was found shot to death inside her Princeton home on Sunday. Local police discovered here after they were sent to the residence for a welfare check.

Investigators haven't said when Kelly Black was actually shot. But after being called in to assist in the death investigation, KSP quickly issued a warrant for Byron Black's arrest.

According to KSP, they believed Black had absconded with Lela in a peeling, white 1996 Chevy Silverado with California plates. The update doesn't say how or when Lela and Byron were located.

An Amber Alert was issued for 5-year-old Princeton, Kentucky girl Lela Black Monday morning after Kentucky State Police say she was likely taken by her father, Byron Black, who is wanted in the shooting death of the girl's mother.
