Apr. 16—EDGELEY, N.D. — A Kulm, North Dakota, man was arrested for DUI on Saturday, April 15, following a pickup-minivan crash that injured another man, said the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The patrol said the accident occurred at 4:48 p.m. Saturday about 1 1/2 miles west of Edgeley on N.D. Highway 13.

The patrol said Joshua Gackle, 48, Kulm, was driving a 2020 Ram 2500 pickup eastbound on Highway 13 approaching 80th Avenue Southeast. A 2004 Toyota Sienna driven by James Steele, 77, Edgeley, was westbound on the highway and began to turn south onto 80th Avenue when it was struck by the Ram 2500. Both vehicles came to rest in the eastbound lanes and shoulder of Highway 13.

Both drivers were unrestrained. Steele was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital, the patrol said.

Gackle, who was not injured, was charged with driving under the influence, the patrol said. Steele was cited for turning left in front of approaching traffic.

Also responding were the LaMoure County Sheriff's Office, Edgeley Fire

Department and Edgeley Ambulance.

The patrol continues to investigate the crash._
