Kyiv authorities share details of latest Russian missile attack on capital

One person was killed and 20 more were injured in the afternoon attack. Explosions thundered across the city as anti-aircraft missiles were launched to intercept the incoming missiles.

Damage to buildings, and cars, along with one death and 20 injuries, were reported in the western half of the capital, on the right bank of the Dnipro River.

As a result of the falling of debris from shot-down Russian missiles, an outbuilding and a car were damaged in the city’s Holosiyivskyi district. A private residential building and the Adler hotel were damaged in the neighboring Solomyanskyi district;

In the Pecherskyi district in the city center, five floors of the corner section of the Alphavito hotel were destroyed, and adjacent buildings, including the capital’s main concert hall Palats Ukrainia, were slightly damaged.

In Dniprovskyi district on the left bank of the Dnipro River, fragments of Russian missiles were found in the street.

There was one fatality in the attack (an elderly man \killed in Solomyanskyi district) were another 20 people were injured. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that 14 of them had been hospitalized, while another six were treated on the spot.

Ukrainian authorities later said that countrywide, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down 12 of more than 20 Russian cruise missiles.

In addition to Kyiv, the Russians hit Khmelnytskyi (part of the city of de-energized, seven people were injured), Zaporizhzhya (four injured, including a pregnant woman and a child), and Mykolaiv (six injured).
