Documents submitted for customs clearance stated that a Cessna fuselage and wings worth EUR 9,000 euros (almost $10,000) were being transported from Romania to Ukraine by truck.

However, customs officers found out during the inspection that it was not parts of the aircraft, but rather the whole aircraft itself in a partially disassembled state.

Other parts of the aircraft were found in the truck in addition to the fuselage and wings, namely vertical and horizontal stabilizers with directional and elevation controls, seats, trim, doors, landing gear, onboard equipment (instruments), fairings, parts of the engine exhaust system, etc.

"That is, in fact, the cargo is a (whole) Cessna 182M aircraft, (although) without an engine and separate onboard equipment," the message reads.

The airplane was seized. Customs drew up a report on violation of customs rules over failure to declare goods and vehicles for commercial use (Art. 472 of the Customs Code).

The smugglers will now face a fine of 100% of the value of the goods, which will also be confiscated.
