Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko says he is to divorce wife of 25 years

The decision to get a divorce was mutual, the Kyiv mayor said. He added that he and his wife have been living in different countries for many years, but remain on good terms.
“For many years we have had different interests and different lives,” said Klitschko. “We decided to make it official. This is the wish of both parties. We still have a good relationship, we respect each other, the children are already adults, and life goes on.”
When asked if his heart was “occupied by other affections,” Klitschko answered with a line from the city anthem: “It is occupied by Kyiv – How can one not love you, my Kyiv?”
Vitali and Natalia Klitschko were married in April 1997. They have three children born of the marriage: sons Yegor-Daniel and Max, and daughter Elizabeth-Victoria. Natalia Klitschko has been living in Germany for many years, building her musical career.
