Kyiv police launch negligence investigation over metro closure

Kyiv police officers have searched the Kyiv Metro and Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA) facilities to investigate damage to metro infrastructure, according to a press release on Dec. 13.

They are seeking to identify criminal liability for negligence leading to the depressurization and flooding of the Blue Line, which has led to the closure of six stations.

The KMDA announced a six-month suspension of train services between Lybidska and Teremky stations on Dec. 8.

Kyiv’s Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported that significant leaks and cracks were identified in the tunnels.
