Kyler Murray celebrated, Cardinals roasted on Twitter after claiming Josh Rosen was their guy

The Arizona Cardinals did what was largely expected Thursday, making Oklahoma’s Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Kyler Murray the top pick in the NFL draft.

Murray drew praise and congratulations from many high-profile athletes for achieving his dream, most notably Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, who was the No. 1 pick of the draft last year out of Oklahoma.

Mayfield wasn’t the only athlete or fan to celebrate the pick.

Jalen Hurts, who recently transferred from Alabama to play quarterback at Oklahoma, liked the pick.

Meanwhile, Nike was ready to promote a player they hope will be their next star.

What about Rosen?

The selection of Murray raises one of the biggest personnel questions in the NFL. What will the Cardinals do with Josh Rosen, the quarterback they selected last year out of UCLA with the 10th pick of the draft.

It’s the same quarterback the Cardinals vowed was “our guy” as recently as February as speculation grew that rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury was enamored with Murray.

The tweet drew some appropriate criticism online.

It also left people wondering what’s next for Rosen.
