Update 7/9/19:

Having announced earlier this year that Chanel's former creative director and designer, Karl Lagerfeld, had been working on a secret make-up collection with L'Oréal Paris before his death in February, the cosmetics giant has finally revealed the details of what is set to be the most chic make-up range ever.

Consisting of six lipsticks (£9.99 each), two liquid eyeliners (£8.99 each), an eyeshadow palette (£14.99), a mascara (£11.99) and a powder highlighter (£14.99), every piece is embossed with Lagerfeld's iconic signature - a feature that the legendary designer put in place before passing away.

L'Oréal confirmed that Lagerfeld illustrated the initial ideas and monochrome packaging, as he did with all of his designs, whilst the brand worked with his team to finalise the products posthumously.

Speaking on the collection Caroline Lebar, Head Of Image And Communication at the Karl Lagerfeld fashion house, said, 'This line of make-up truly reflects the Karl Lagerfeld brand universe and what Karl loved in make-up.'

'Karl liked it when a collaboration resonated with a brand and would make a real impact on many people,' Lebar continued.

As the A-list mourned the death of legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld at his 'Karl Forever' memorial last week, plans were already in place to continue the fashion icon's unique vision.

Namely, a make-up collection in collaboration with cosmetics giant L'Orèal Paris.

The unexpected collab is less surprising than you might think. Lagerfeld infamously drew his signature fashion illustrations using eyeshadow rather than paints or coloured pencils and also launched a capsule make-up collection with Model Co. last year.

Not to mention that as the Creative Director of Chanel, the designer would have overseen some of the most sought after fragrance and cosmetics lines in the world.

WWD report that the 85-year-old had many projects in place before his death in February, including a make-up range with L'Orèal Paris that channeled his 'rock-chic style, fused with a sense of Parisian elegance.'

So far specific products and price points are yet to be revealed, however, it has been confirmed that the range will share Lagerfeld's 'pioneering spirit and commitment to celebrating feminine power, with a relentless quest to create the unexpected.'

As one of the first moves from L'Orèal Paris' new Global Brand President, Délphine Viguier-Hovasse, the partnership is a particularly significant one. 'All of our fashion designer collaborations are an honour, but this one is particularly meaningful,' said Viguier-Hovasse. 'While Karl upturned the hierarchy of the landscape to democratise fashion, L’Oréal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women’s own rules and desires.'

Launching online on 20th September and globally on the 27th September during Paris Fashion Week, keep your eyes peeled (and your fingers ready to *add to basket*) for what we're dubbing the hottest beauty collab of 2019.
