L.J. Collier excited for, cognizant of ‘fresh opportunity’

The Arizona Cardinals took a chance on former first-round pick L.J. Collier, who played the last four seasons for the Seattle Seahawks. He never achieved what was expected of him.

Het took a one-year deal for slightly more than the league minimum and he intends on proving himself.

He is excited for the opportunity and for staying in the division.

“I get to see the Seahawks two times a year and I’m excited about that,” said Collier, according to AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban.

He saw the success the defensive line of the Philadelphia Eagles had last season when new Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon was their defensive coordinator.

He is grateful for the team in taking a chance on him and he knows what that means. He doesn’t want to disappoint.

“It’s a fresh opportunity. I appreciate these guys taking the chance on me,” he said. “They could’ve gotten anybody and they went with me. I’m going to make sure they don’t regret that.”

Collier currently projects as one of the Cardinals’ starting defensive ends.
