L&N STEM Academy stays among top 10 Tennessee high schools on US News and World Report list
L&N STEM Academy is once again ranked among the top 10 high schools in Tennessee in a new list released by U.S. News and World Report.
The 2024 rankings for the downtown Knoxville school specializing in science, technology, engineering and math are:
No. 9 among Tennessee high schools
No. 99 among magnet high schools nationally
No. 610 among all high schools nationally
No. 1 among Knox County high schools
L&N STEM Academy's scorecard was 96.6 out of 100. The high percentage of students who took and passed at least one Advanced Placement exam boosted its rank, as well as its students' reading proficiency.
The school dropped one spot in Tennessee rakings but rose on the national list compared to 2023.

U.S. News and World Report magazine reviewed about 18,000 public high schools around the country on test performance, graduation rates and how well students are prepared for college.
