L-S volleyball loses in four to Iowa Valley

Oct. 6—SULLY — Elise Alberts collected an impressive double-double, but Lynnville-Sully's volleyball team lost in four sets to Iowa Valley on Monday night during South Iowa Cedar League play.

The Tigers and Hawks split a pair of 25-20 sets to open the night but Iowa Valley won the final two sets 25-18, 25-17.

Alberts finished with 22 assists and 22 digs, Alexy Conover had seven kills, 15 digs and three aces and Aubree Arthur tallied 10 kills and two digs.

Aliya James finished with 21 digs and two aces, Natalie Roberts had 17 digs and four aces and Makayla Tice chipped in 15 digs. Abby Squires put down five kills and had three digs, Lily Zylstra put down three kills and Jordan Spooner chipped in two digs.

The Hawks (5-23 overall, 1-7 in the SICL) were 74-of-79 in serves with nine aces. Alberts was 13-of-13, Conover served 12-of-12 and James hit on 11-of-11. Tice served 15-of-16.

Iowa Valley improved to 8-19 overall and 4-3 in the SICL.
