Wondering what to do this Labor Day weekend? Here are some ideas, from concerts to festivals.

Gloria Trevi in concert

Latin music icon Gloria Trevi is including El Paso in her Isla Divina World Tour 2022. Trevi will perform Friday at the El Paso County Coliseum. The show will start at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $39 to $199, plus fees, at Ticketmaster.com.

Chiquis at Speaking Rock

The singer and TV personality star is returning to El Paso with a free concert Saturday at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center, 122 S. Old Pueblo Road. She is promoting her latest album, "Abeja Reina," a collection of songs that range from banda and corridos to R&B.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the 21 and older show.

Little Joe Y La Familia

The popular Tejano Little Joe y La Familia will perform for Bowie High School's 100 years of Legacy concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at the El Paso County Coliseum. Tickets, costing $35, plus fees, are for stadium seating only, no floor seats, and are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Rosa's Cantina

The famous cantina, at 3454 Doniphan Drive, invites the El Paso community to show up Saturday and enjoy good food, good drinks and live music to celebrate Labor Day weekend.

The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Bands start playing around 8 p.m.

Lowbrow Palace reopens

The Lowbrow Palace will reopen Labor Day weekend in a new space at 1006 Texas Ave., coinciding with its 11 year anniversary. The venue will host indie-rock legends, Modest Mouse, and the Rodeo: Night Market, followed by a special Drake vs. Kanye dance party.

The new spot has two stages, an indoor bar and a repurposed outdoor shipping container bar.

Weekend schedule:● Friday: Modest Mouse: General admission, sold-out. Doors open at 6 p.m.; show at 7:30 p.m.● Saturday: The Rodeo: Night Market: 6 to 10 p.m.; afterward Drizzy vs. Ye: A Night of Drake and Kanye. Tickets $15, $20 all ages.● Sunday: Triathlon: Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets $15, $18 all ages, at lowbrowpalace.com.

St. Anthony's Seminary Bazaar

Music, food and fun returns with St. Anthony's Bazaar Saturday through Monday on the seminary grounds, 4601 Hastings Drive.

The bazaar will feature gorditas and hamburgers and aguas, among other great foods and games.

Free admission.

Fungi Mungle at St. Mark's Catholic Church

The popular disco band will play during the church's bazaar at 7 p.m. Sunday at 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd.

End of Summer Bash in Ruidoso area

Soak up the last days of summer with music, food and fireworks at the Inn of the Mountain Gods’ End of Summer Bash, starting at 3 p.m. Sunday. The free family-friendly event will feature live music on the lawn and concessions available for purchase. Guests also can get a $10 wristband to access jumping balloons and a gravity-defying rock wall. As the sun sets, the sky will light up with a fireworks display over Lake Mescalero as the DJ keeps the music going until 10 p.m.

Harvest Wine Festival in Las Cruces

Enjoy sampling more than 200 wines from New Mexico's finest wineries at the event from Saturday through Monday at the Doña Ana County Fairgrounds, 12125 Robert Larson Blvd. Times will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Ticket prices range from $25, plus fees, for Monday admission only, and $30 for afternoon passes to $65 for a weekend pass, available at tickets.holdmyticket.com.

Hatch Chile Festival

Expect chile roasting, a carnival, food and craft vendors at this year’s Hatch Chile Festival from Friday through Sunday in Hatch, New Mexico. Hatch, the Chile Capital of the World, is located 83 miles north of El Paso off I-25. Events begin at 5 p.m. Friday, the parade will kick off events at 9 a.m. Saturday and the celebration continues Sunday.

Parking will be around Hatch High School, 170 E. Herrera Road; $10 contribution to park, which helps support the festival. Be prepared to walk, so bring water, sunscreen and a hat.

White Sands Balloon & Music Fest

The 2022 White Sand Balloon & Music Festival will feature family fun activities as well as hot air balloons and some new surprises. It is planned for Sept. 16-17 with music events at Ed Brabson Park in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Balloon launch is at White Sands at 7 a.m. Sept 17.

Ticket prices vary; general admission for Saturday only is $50, plus fees, and is available at aftontickets.com.            

Southern New Mexico State Fair & Rodeo

The 55th annual state fair will be Sept. 28-Oct. 2 at 12125 Robert Larson Blvd., Las Cruces. Hours will be 6 to 10 p.m. Sept. 28-29, 6 p.m. to midnight Sept. 30, 1 p.m. to midnight Oct. 1 and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 2.The fair is known for carnival rides, festival foods and a rodeo. A $25 ticket gives you unlimited rides if purchased before 3 p.m. Oct. 2; armbands, one per person, per day, are available for $30 at the event.

Apple Festival

Time to pick apples and eat fresh-made apple pies during the Apple Festival Oct. 1-2 at the Nichols Ranch, 236 Cottonwood Canyon, in La Luz, New Mexico.

The event will offer a myriad of activities, including live music, a petting zoo, carnival games, and arts and craft vendors.

The cost is $10 for adults, but is free for kids younger than 12. For tickets, go to nicholsranchandorchards.com.

Chalk the Block

The family-oriented Chalk the Block festival will be Oct. 7-9 in Downtown El Paso.

The festival, marking 15 years in 2022, usually draws thousands each day with numerous artists participating around the block. The event includes a juried sidewalk chalk art competition, temporary art installations, street performances, a live music stage at San Jacinto Plaza, local art and food vendors, and free art activities at the El Paso museums of art and history.

This year the title sponsor is Raiz Federal Credit Union. A new website also has been created: www.chalktheblock.com.

El Paso Wine Fest

The El Paso Wine Fest, by the Rotary Club of El Paso, will feature local chefs and fine wines from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 15 in the El Paso Downtown area. About 20 restaurants will participate, including Ambar, Anson 11, Crave and Mesa Street Grill.

Single tickets are $125 each and are available at eventbrite.com.
