Lachlan Ross, Albany State baseball players rack up SIAC awards

May 5—Albany State's Lachlan Ross earned the prestigious Elite 14 Award on Thursday when the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its season-ending baseball honors.

The Elite 14 Award recognizes one athlete per sport who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the SIAC championship level while also achieving the highest academic standard among his peers. Ross is the first recipient of the new award in baseball.

Ross, a junior from Australia, also made the All-SIAC Baseball Team as a second-team selection, joining teammates Jonathan Henry (starting pitcher), Jeremiah Reddell (starting pitcher), Nicholas Hernandez (first base), Malik Bell (second base) and Lavoisier Fisher (outfielder).
