Lack of busing, not COVID-19 fears, keeping Elk Grove kids from in-person learning, parents say

It's been one week since middle school and high school students in the Elk Grove Unified School District were allowed to return to campus for a four-day-a-week in-person schedule. The return rate is between 20% to 30% for upper grades. Parents told KCRA 3 it's not COVID-19 concerns that are keeping their children home for the remainder of the school year. They said the district forced them to make that decision because they are not providing transportation for all students.
