Billy Gilman, who had a Top 20 country hit in 2000 with "One Voice," is coming to The Legacy Theatre Saturday.

Billy Gilman was just 11 when his debut album "One Voice" went to No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts in 2000, making him the youngest singer to do so.

The Rhode Island native comes to The Legacy Theatre for an 8 p.m. show on Saturday.

Gilman was re-introduced to the world in 2016 when he made it to the finals of "The Voice" with coach Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

Broadway World noted that while "enormous concert halls are lucrative and big enough to contain his freakish voice, the intimate setting provided by smaller clubs is a warm and welcome place for a man of Gilman's pleasing performance style."

Tickets are $35-$50 and available at The Legacy Theatre website.

It may be the happiest walk/run, and certainly the most brightly colored, when the Asian Indian Women's Organization hosts its "Color Me Holi 5K" at Washington Park on Saturday.

The day includes a celebration of the festival of colors in India, celebrating spring, love and the blossoming of new life; Bollywood beats in a 30-minute session led by Zumba instructor Evgenia Samala and delicious Indian treats.

The 5K benefits Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization that makes a meaningful impact in the community by unleashing the limitless potential of 8- to 13-year-old girls, while creatively integrating running into their experience-based curriculum.

The AIWO is a nonprofit organization of dedicated women volunteers. Through the 5K and its "India Night" fundraiser, it has supported causes such as Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois, HSHS St. John’s Imagine Tomorrow Campaign for the renovation of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Mercy Communities, Inc. and The Outlet.

Last fall, the group was named the Humanitarian of the Year by the Greater Springfield Interfaith Association. GSIA will officially present the award at 11:15 a.m.

The run/walk is at 10 a.m. Cost is $30. Visit the AIWO website for more information.

Grant at 200

Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum will mark President Ulysses S. Grant's 200th birthday with a special program led by Lincoln Historian Christian McWhirter at the library's multi-purpose room at noon Wednesday.

The program will look at some rarely seen items from the library's collection illuminating Grant's life, from his "Hardscrabble" years through his leadership in the Civil War to his presidency to the authorship of his famous memoirs.

Springfield has a special place in the Grant pantheon. According to SangamonLink, Grant was put in charge of mustering new Illinois volunteers here early on in the Civil War. Ultimately, Gov. Richard Yates named Grant colonel of the 21st Illinois Infantry, a Mattoon regiment which trained at the old state fairgrounds, Camp Yates, in what is now the historic west side of Springfield.

The program also will be livestreamed on the ALPLM Facebook page.
