LANCASTER — Lady A has canceled its July 30 concert at the Lancaster Festival.

Billy Currington will replace the country act.

Festival executive director Deb Connell said the band gave no reason for the cancellation and called it a case of unforeseen circumstances. She said she found out Friday evening.

"It's very disappointing," Connell said. "I know that there's a lot of Lady A fans out there that will also be disappointed. We're very proud of the fact that we were able to in less than 24 hours secure an act that's just as exciting as Lady A."

There will be no ticket refunds for those who were expecting Lady A, however. Connell said the tickets state that date, time, location and artists are subject to change.

"We have a no-refund policy," Connell said. "Their tickets are still valid for the concert. They will still see the orchestra (Lancaster Festival Orchestra), they will still see Billy Currington and the whole Lancaster Festival experience. It makes it worth coming whether it's Lady A or Billy Currington on our stage."

This is not the first time an act has canceled on the festival at the last minute. In 2012 LeAnn Rimes canceled just days before her scheduled performance due to a dental issue and Clay Walker replaced her.

"He put on a phenomenal show and we're sure that's exactly what's going to happen with this show," Connell said. "He's been wonderful about bending his schedule so that he can come and provide a great show on the 30th for us."

She said the 2012 experience gave the festival board hope this year's issue would also work out well.

"We work with some great agents out of Nashville and we've built some great relationships with them over the years," Connell said. "So they were all working on our behalf all Friday night. They were taking their weekend and their time away from their families to make sure that we had a replacement to announce today. That was important to me."

Connell said she has no ill will toward Lady A and would book them again in the future.

"Things happen," she said. "We're all human and things happen to them just like they happen to us. I wish them well. I hope that whatever's going on is not anything drastic on anybody's part and I would love to have them back at another festival at some point."
