Lady Cardinals get much-needed win over Ridgewood

Sandy Valley snapped a three-game losing streak with a 47-36 division win over Ridgewood.

Abbey Parker scored six points and Alli Neary had four as the Lady Cardinals jumped out to a 15-6 first-quarter lead.

The Lady Generals turned things around in the second frame, outscoring the hosts 15-2 for a 21-17 lead at the break.

A 12-7 third quarter lifted Sandy Valley to a slim 29-28 lead.

Neary scored seven points and Jordan Parker netted six as the Lady Cardinals (12-5, 7-4) put together an 18-8 final frame to pull out the victory.

A. Parker finished with 13 points, J. Parker had 11 points, Neary had 11 points, Amber Ward pulled down seven rebounds, and Breeli Faiello swiped three steals.

Earlier in the week the Lady Pirates outscored Sandy Valley 4-2 in overtime to pick up an Inter-Valley Conference South Division win.

Garaway led 11-8 at the end of the first quarter, 20-19 at halftime, and 29-27 heading into the final eight minutes of regulation.

Jordan Parker tallied four points and Alli Neary had three as the Lady Cardinals outscored Garaway 7-5 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

The low-scoring affair continued in the extra frame. Sandy Valley managed just two points, both coming from the charity stripe.

A. Parker finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, J. Parker had 12 points, Neary had four points, and Lexi Tucci had three points, six rebounds and three assists.
