Lady Gaga Brings Pizza to California Wildfire Victims for World Kindness Day

Over 300,000 people have been forced out of their homes over the past few weeks by wildfires sweeping through California. Among the evacuees was Lady Gaga, who had to leave her home in Malibu. To help others in her situation, Gaga showed up on Tuesday at a Red Cross evacuation shelter in Los Angeles with stacks of pizza boxes and coffee, The Daily Mail reports.

"Today is my favorite day of the year — it's World Kindness Day," she said in the Instagram story documenting her visit. "I encourage you all to do one act of kindness, even if it's for yourself. I'm on my way to a shelter in California to be with people who have evacuated their homes. It's one of my acts of kindness for today, and I encourage you to do the same. Be kind."

Gaga also made an appearance Sunday at an evacuation shelter at Pacific Palisades High School in LA. "I extend my love," she told the people there. "I know we do not know each other, but I love you. This is an emergency, but you are not alone."

Miley Cyrus also had to leave her home in Malibu because of the wildfires. She tweeted that though she lost her home, she felt lucky that she, her partner Liam Hemsworth, and her animals were safe and encouraged people to donate to organizations like the Red Cross and the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.

The Kardashian West family were among the evacuees as well, with Kim writing on Instagram, "Pray for Calabasas. Just landed back home and had 1 hour to pack up & evacuate our home. Firefighters are arriving. Thank you for all that you do for us!!!"

If you want to help the victims of the wildfires, you can donate to groups like the Red Cross as well as local organizations like Mask Oakland, support a verified GoFundMe campaign, and donate to an animal shelter like the Humane Society of Ventura County or even adopt a pet yourself.
