Lady Gaga Debuts "Ocean Blonde" Hair in Memory of Hairstylist Frederic Aspiras's Mother

When it comes to style, Lady Gaga has been known to show off nearly every color of the rainbow with her makeup, outfits, and, of course, hair. Bubblegum pink, icy blue, ombré peach — let's face it, Mother Monster has tried it all. As for her newest hue, that would be a beachy sea-green worthy of any mermaid's envy. This isn't your ordinary hair switch-up though; the singer-songwriter also unveiled that her latest hairstyle has a deeper meaning.

"Rocking color by @fredericaspiras named after his mother who just passed," wrote the singer in an Instagram post on Friday, August 14, referring to her go-to hairstylist, Frederic Aspiras, whose mother Suzie L. Nguyen passed away in June after battling lung cancer. Gaga went on to reveal that the name of her hair color is "Suzie’s Ocean Blonde," as a tribute to the stylist's late mother. "I love you Freddie," she added. "This was extra special glamour with love."

As noted by ET Canada, Gaga and Aspiras have worked together for over a decade. The stylist and wig art designer also received an Emmy nomination for styling Gaga's hair during her American Horror Story role.

Aspiras also posted about Gaga's meaningful hair tribute, sharing the same photo of the singer to his IG feed. "Being that my Mother was my role model as a hairdresser, I'm trying my hardest to find the joy even in what I love to do the most, which is doing hair," he wrote, adding that Gaga helped him rediscover that passion amid his grief.

"Yesterday, @ladygaga, you gave me back my joy again by reminding me what my Mom told me long ago about what I loved to do the most and that is create with love. You wiped my tears away and lifted my chin from off the ground as I walk. So, thank you for allowing me to create this hair on you and showing me what the true meaning of living is."
