Lady Indians take care of business against Central High

Jan. 18—It took a little bit for some offense to get going, but when it did the Comanche Lady Indians, the defending tournament champions, took care of business against Central High Lady Bronchos.

The defense was prevalent for the Lady Indians as they won 39-7 over the Lady Bronchos with Comanche holding a 21-0 lead at halftime.

Kylie Roden got the first bucket midway through the first as her three put the Lady Indians up 3-0. Kynli Morris then netted a basket to put them up 5-0 after one quarter of play.

Morris and Roden started off the second quarter with a free throw and a bucket while Kamrey Rendon got her only basket to put Comanche up 10-0 over Central High.

The final bucket from Morris put Comanche up 12-0 as one of the seniors in Gracee Miller started to hit baskets to help her team right before halftime.

Hitting two buckets in a row was Miller. Her team led 16-0 before a bucket from Roden got them up by 18-0 and a third basket from Roden put them up 20-0.

The final free throw from Roden gave them the 21-0 lead going into the second half as the Lady Indians looked to keep Central High off the scoreboard until the midway point in the third quarter.

Starting the third, Morris and Miller got the lead to 30-0. Miller got the Lady Indians up to 33-0 with free throws before the first bucket came from the Lady Bronchos.

With 3:22 left in the third quarter, Ruthie Hargrove hit a long range bucket from three-point land to make it 33-3 with Roden getting the final points for the Lady Indians in the third quarter.

Kellie Archer, for the Lady Bronchos, ended the quarter with a bucket. Still, Comanche held the 36-5 going into the final eight minutes, which saw both teams score a little amount to finish the game.

Leading in scoring was Miller, who had 15, while Roden had 13 as the only two in double figures for Comanche while Hargrove led with three points for Central High.
