The Historic Amuzu Theatre welcomes Hannah Jane in concert presenting Lady Legends of Broadway with acclaimed jazz pianist Jon Weber.

Hannah Jane graduated from The Professional Performing Arts School and has been hailed by Broadway World’s Stephen Mosher as ❝one of the most versatile and thrilling talents to be seen on any New York City stage in a very long time.❞

Hannah Jane aslo can be seen in upcoming episodes of ❝The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,❞ ❝The Good Fight❞ and ❝Brass Tactics.❞

The concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at 111 N. Howe St., Southport. Tickets are $25. VIP tickets $50 and include VIP seating, private meet and greet following the show with Hannah Jane and Jon Weber, an autographed program and VIP acoustic set. In addition to the regular concession items, beverages will be available from Silver Coast Winery.

Brunswick Town Chapter DAR meeting

Donna Phelps will be the guest speaker at the Brunswick Town Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

Rev. Phelps founded Building Hope Ministries in 1999 and Brunswick County Streetreach in 2011. Streetreach’s mission is to share Christ's unconditional and redemptive love by caring for immediate needs and enabling lasting solutions for the hungry and homeless, according to Phelps.

Raised in Charlotte, Rev. Phelps served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1986, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work and is an ordained minister. She is a member of Horry County’s Human Trafficking Task Force.

The meeting will be held in person or by Zoon and begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12. Catered lunch follows the meeting.

Daughters of the American Revolution is a service organization founded in 1890 for women who can prove direct, blood lineage from a Revolutionary War Patriot. The organization promotes patriotism, education, and historic preservation.

Listen Up Brunswick County

Listen Up Brunswick County will welcome back to its stage, Annabelle's Curse, a five-piece alternative folk band from Appalachia.

The town of Leland Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources will present Disney ❝Hocus Pocus❞ at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at Founders Park, 113 Town Hall Drive. Food truck on site, picnics/coolers welcomed. Bring a blanket and/or chair. No smoking. Alcohol and pets are not allowed.

N.C. Oyster Festival

Show off your skills — from oyster shucking to cooking contests at the N.C. Oyster Festival. This two day-event will also feature live performances from old school rock ❛n❜roll, to country, R&B and classic beach tunes, such as The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, Gary Lowder and Smokin' Hot, Split Shot, Sea & Sand Band, and country singer Terry Douglas. There will also be arts and crafts vendors from around the area, selling handmade jewelry, holiday decor, natural beauty products, handcrafted clothing items, woodcraft, unique cuisines, and so much more.
