Lady Tigers make it a repeat in CTC

Nov. 7—MANCHESTER — It was a repeat performance for the Windham Tech girls soccer team.

Aleyshka Sandoval scored two goals — both assisted by Kerria Busse — as the top- seeded Lady Tigers completed an undefeated run through the Connecticut Technical Conference with a 3- 0 victory over No. 2 Ellis Tech in the CTC tournament championship game at Howell Cheney Technical School.

Lara Pedrosa also scored for Windham Tech ( 15- 3), which outscored its CTC opponents 80-10 and had defeated the Golden Eagles ( 125-1) 8-2 and 7-2 during the regular season.

Grace Smith assisted on Pedrosa's goal.

VOLLEYBALL

Kassidy LaTour ( 19 kills, 10 assists, 3 aces) was named the Most Valuable Player of the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II tournament on Friday as top- seeded Lyman Memorial took home the championship with a 25-21, 23-25, 25- 17, 25- 11 victory over No. 2 seed Wheeler at New London High School.

The Bulldogs (18-5), the Division III regular season champs, seized control in the third game — as Mia Attardi won seven consecutive service points — to build a 20- 9 lead.

And in the fourth game — Carlee DeRoehn (14 assists, 11 kills, 5 aces) won the final nine points on serve, closing things out with an ace.LaTour had three kills in the run.

Nina Gardella added six kills for Lyman Memorial.

Lindsey Harrington had seven kills, Anaka Eaton finished with six kills and Sarah Miller had 31 digs for second-seed Coventry (16-6), which fell to top- seed Suffield — 25- 13, 25-19, 25-15 — in the North Central Connecticut Conference tournament final.
