Lady Vikes tie for win, Vikes take 3rd

May 4—BICKNELL — Barr-Reeve varsity boys and girls track teams competed Tuesday night at North Knox in a quad meet against North Knox, South Knox and North Daviess.

The Lady Vikings tied South Knox for first with 76 points. Third place went to North Knox with 69 and North Daviess had 22 points.

Viking Elle Knepp had a perfect night with four first place finishes in Long Jump — 16'2", High Jump — 5'0, 100 Hurdles- :18.28 and 300 Hurdles :54.51 scoring 24 points for the team. Katie Raber also had a great night taking 2nd place in the 100h and 300h and 4th place in High Jump. She was also the lead leg on the winning 4×100 relay team consisting of Katie Raber, Madison Senne, Olivia Nonte and Maeli Stoll. Despite the strong winds the girls 4×100 set a new PR this season of :57.26. Other finishers for the Vikings were Emily Wagler 3rd in the 1600m. 4th place in the 800m and Pole Vault and she was 2nd place in the 4×400 relay consisting of Madison Senne, Hailey Buse, Madisyn Wagler and Emily Wagler. Maeli Stoll was also 3rd in the 100m. Katelyn Stevens was 2nd in Shot Put. Emma Salmon was 2nd in the 3200 and 5th place in the 1600m she was also on the 4×800 relay which was 3rd place (Allie Knepp, Hailey Buse, Madisyn Wagler, Emma Salmon) Allie Knepp was 4th place in the 1600m and 3rd place in the 3200m and 5th place in the 800m. Olivia Nonte was 4th place in Shot Put.

The boys varsity track team came in third overall with 32.5 points. First place was South Knox 154.5 pts. North Knox had 34 points and North Daviess had 20 points.

Logan Spinks and Kaden Buse were our leading scorers with 10 points apiece. Logan took 1st place in the 1600 m with a time of 5:07.14 and 2nd place in the 3200m. He was also on the 4×800 relay that came in 3rd place (Austin Daughtery, Owen McCraken. Evan Wehmier, Logan Spinks) Kaden Buse was 1st place in the 400m with a time of 51.74 and 2nd place in the 200m. also scoring for the Vikings were Nolan McCain taking 2nd place in Long Jump. Yadier Victoriono 3rd place in Discus. Grady Corbin 3rd place in the 300h and 5th place in High Jump. Owen McCraken was 5th in the 3200m and Evan Wehmier was 5th place in Long Jump.

The Viking track teams will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Blue Chip conference. Monday night field events will take place at North East Dubois starting at 6:30 p.m. and running events on Tuesday night at North Knox also starting at 6:30 p.m.
