Lady Vols basketball has a rematch in SEC play.
Tennessee (14-6, 6-0 SEC) faces Florida (12-6, 1-4) at Thompson-Boling Arena on Thursday, just three weeks after squaring off in Gainesville to start conference play. The Lady Vols notched an important 77-67 win to fuel an undefeated start and the Gators have struggled ever since.
Thursday is also Tennessee's "We Back Pat" game. The annual initiative brings awareness to the Pat Summitt Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Summitt, the legendary Lady Vols coach, was diagnosed with early onset dementia in 2011, which is when she created her foundation with her son, Tyler Summitt.

"The game in itself is an initiative to keep Pat’s fight alive and to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s, as well as to support her foundation," Lady Vols coach Kellie Harper said. “But I think for the program, it’s just one more opportunity for us to celebrate our coach, just to be reminded of who she was and what she stood for. I think it’s hard for former players. It’s hard for fans to start thinking about how long we’ve been missing her. This is just one more way to keep that spirit alive.”
