Lafayette Symphony Orchestra to perform "Holiday Pops"
LAFAYETTE, Ind. − The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra (LSO) will present "Holiday Pops," a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Long Center for Performing Arts.
According to a release from LSO, "Holiday Pops" will feature music from "The Polar Express," "Hook," the Trans-Siberian Orchestra along with classic tunes such as "Sleigh Ride" and "The Nutcracker."
Also to be featured in this program will be "Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus." This piece will feature two narrators, Civic Youth actor Miriam Weese and John Clare, former WBAA Music Director and currently of Cincinnati Public Radio and SiriusXM.
“I am delighted to perform with the wonderful Maestro Nick Palmer,” Clare said in the release. “Our friendship has grown over the years, and I always learn something new or discover a new detail with his interpretations. Getting to narrate with the LSO is a total blast, and especially meaningful in (Conductor Maestro) Nick’s final season.”
"Holiday Pops" serves as LSO's second performance in their 2022-2023 mainstage concert series. This concert will last about an hour with no intermissions.
The full lineup of songs in the concert are available online at lafayettesymphony.org. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance on LSO's website and range from $8.00-$39.00.
