New LaGrange police chief and fire chief sworn in at City Council meeting

On Tuesday, LaGrange Police Chief Garrett Fiveash and LaGrange Fire Chief Willie Bradfield took the oath of office at the City Council meeting.

Fiveash was sworn into office and he plans to officially begin his new role Monday, April 17.

Fiveash has been in law enforcement for 28 years, and he has been with the Georgia State Patrol for 27 years.

He began his career in 1994 as a driver’s license examiner and then became a captain in 2019. He became the Director of Training for the Department of Public Safety where he oversaw the training of more than 1,000 employees.

Fiveash retired in July 2022 and continued to teach law enforcement at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth.

Bradfield was also sworn into office and he plans to begin his role Thursday, April 13.

Bradfield has been with the LaGrange Fire Department since 1999. He began as a firefighter in 1999 and became Deputy Chief in 2013. In the past ten years as Deputy Chief, Bradfield secured his Georgia Fire Chief Certification, Fire Department Administration Training, and Fire Department Executive Training.
