Lake Charles, 'Still Recovering' From Hurricane Laura, Braces for Storm Delta

Downed trees, debris, and tarps shielding damaged roofs — remnants of Hurricane Laura — were seen in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 8, as the region braces for another hurricane.

Evacuation orders were issued for several Louisiana parishes ahead of Hurricane Delta, including all residents in Beauregard and Calcasieu parishes, reports said. Calcasieu Parish is home to Lake Charles, which is still recovering from damage left by Hurricane Laura in late August.

The National Hurricane Center forecast storm Delta to bring “hurricane conditions and life-threatening storm surge” to parts of the northern Gulf Coast on Friday.
