The Lake County board of commissioners held a special ceremony Thursday to honor our nation’s freedom.
A “Liberty Tree” was planted outside a tax collector’s office in Clermont.
The tree will serve as a symbol of liberty, community and remembrance.
It’s a tradition county commissioners said will continue each year.
“These Liberty Trees will help promote the values of this great nation and again how we can serve better here locally,” said Lake Commissioner Chairman Sean Parks.
In 2021, CherryLake, inc. also donated a Liberty Tree that was planted outside the Lake County administration building in Tavares.
