Lake Decatur making progress on new C-store, boat docks

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Some parts of Lake Decatur are in the middle of getting a much-welcome makeover.

Boat races returning to Lake Decatur after 20-year hiatus

Decatur officials said that construction on a new convenience store, Pier 36 Marina, is going smoothly. The store will be attached to the Lake Patrol office and will include snacks, boat supplies, adult beverages and more.

Old boat docks are also being replaced and removed with 40 new boat slips. Two floating docks hold 20 slips each. Construction on this project is still ongoing.

In the future, city officials said they are also planning for a new retail gas dock, a rental boat service, and new Lake Patrol docks.
