Lake Elsinore's Embroidery & More Is Open For Your Business

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Many local businesses that were forced to close amid the coronavirus pandemic have reopened, but the road has not been easy.

Recently, Patch launched a Local Business Information Center to keep residents updated about businesses in their area. The center allows businesses to upload information about their companies, hours of operation, contact information and more, so local consumers can find them.

Patch is reaching out to those business owners to find out more about their companies and what it's been like for them.

Here's one of those short stories:

Business Name: Embroidery & More, 18451 Collier Avenue, Suite C, Lake Elsinore

Business Owner/President: Carolyn Ziegenhorn

Patch: Tell us about Embroidery & More.

Carolyn: We offer embroidery, screen printing, banners, decals, letterman jackets and medical scrubs. I started Embroidery & More 20 years ago here in Lake Elsinore. My daughters played softball with a local league here (LEGS) and I was always the team mom. Eventually, I got on the Board. I was in charge of uniforms and could see there was no where local to purchase everything. I was wanting to start a business so I did not have to travel the freeways. Twenty years later, here we are. I have never advertised. It has always been word of mouth from the community. I have a lot of customers who started with me when their children were in kindergarten — and now they are in college.

Patch: Carolyn, were you forced to shut down as a result of coronavirus?

Carolyn: Yes I was. We shut down at the end of March and reopened at the end of May due to the fact that one of my customers said, "you should be considered essential because you sell scrubs."

Patch: What are the biggest business challenges you've faced during the pandemic?

Carolyn: Our biggest challenges have been not having the school orders and sports leagues, which is a big portion of my business. My company is certainly not back to normal until the schools and sports leagues return. We are not open full time as of now. Our current hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Patch: Hang in there Carolyn! We're cheering for you.
