Lake Land College sees enrollment growth in 2024 spring semester

MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — Lake Land College in Mattoon announced that they are seeing growth in enrollment data for the 2024 spring semester.

Based on their 10th-day enrollment report, there has been a near 4% increase in total headcount at the college at 3,817. That is 130 more students than the 2023 spring semester. The report also noted a .13% increase in full-time equivalency (FTE) enrollment at 2,455.1 — the highest FTE since 2021.

252 new students arrived on campus for the 2024 spring semester, over 100 students more than the prior spring semester. There was also a 50% jump in international students. Dual-credit enrollment saw a nearly 5% increase.

“It’s incredible to see so many students continue to choose Lake Land College as the starting point for their future,” Lake Land College President Josh Bullock said. “We’re proud to be a place where students can feel at home while receiving high-quality instruction that will prepare them for success moving forward.”

The college credits their enrollment growth to their affordability and student support through programs like the Pipeline for the Advancement of Healthcare Workforce Program (PATH) Grant, Recruitment and Advancement of the Next Generation of Engineers (RANGE), and their new Surgical Technology program.
