Lake Township trustees

Monday meeting

ACTION: Approved the purchase of two police cruisers for the Uniontown Police Department.

DISCUSSION: The trustees authorized the purchase of two 2022 Ford Explorers for the police department from Montrose Ford at a total cost of $72,062 ($36,031 each). The trustees said both vehicles are hybrid. That makes the cost a bit higher but will save on gas costs.

OTHER ACTION:

  • Paid bills as of Jan. 24 in the amount of $39,283.

  • Authorized the purchase of a garage door for the road department’s Midway facility from Dutcher Door for $13,332.

  • Approved the repair of a diesel air compressor for the road department from Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. for $3,861.

  • Authorized the purchase of eight plow cutting edges for road department from Stone Products for $6,925.

  • Accepted the resignation and approved a separation agreement for Brian Duman from the Uniontown Police Department. Duman received the Distinguished Law Enforcement of Valor Award in 2018 (along with now retired police officer David White) for their actions in response to a domestic violence call in July 2017. The trustees wished him all the best and thanked him for his service.

UP NEXT: Meet 5 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the Town Hall and broadcast live on Facebook.
