After a scoreless first half, the Lake View High School girls soccer team came on strong en route to a 2-0 shutout against Graham in the Maidens' final game at the Red River Round Robin Tournament in Wichita Falls on Saturday.
Lake View improved to 2-3-1.
Sophomore Alyssa Delacruz had a throw-in to an open Ally Flores, who struck a solid 20-yard kick over the goalkeeper's hands to make it 1-0.
Five minutes later, freshman Jaylen Cuellar found the back of the net courtesy of an assist by the junior Flores.
Sophomore Jennifer Mata was in goal for the shutout.
"I am so proud for the Maidens to play under these cold temperatures," Lake View head coach Henry Gonzales said. "The Maidens were resilient and never gave up. Our defense played strong, giving our offense plenty of opportunities."
The Maidens will host Andrews in a nondistrict match at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Lake View Stadium.
