LAKELAND —  Lakeland Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Lakeland Police Department to help the city's businesses and organizations prepare for the possibility of an active shooter.

LPD Sgt. Bryan McNabb will lead an active shooter seminar Oct. 25 at 8:30 a.m. The training is designed to help businesses be prepared, help prevent and if necessary respond to an active shooting.

The event is free but limited to those who have a primary brick-and-mortar location within city limits. Attendance is open to non-chamber members. Advanced registration is required online at lakelandchamber.chambermaster.com/eventregistration/register/26451.

Participants will be required to show a photo ID and employee credentials, such as a business card or employee badge, at the seminar.
